Petroleum Industry Emergency Line

For a medical emergency occurring at a remote or wilderness site in Alberta, Saskatchewan or B.C., please call the following numbers:

  • When 911 or a published emergency number is available, these numbers should always be your first call to activate local emergency services.

  • If 911 is not available, you are unsure, or they are having difficulty locating you, call STARS emergency Link Center at 1-888-888-4567 or, in Alberta #4567 on a cell phone.   If the above numbers do not work, contact the link center by calling 403-299-0932.

Pre-register your Wilderness, Remote Site or Special Event with the STARS Emergency Link Center by using 1-888-888-4567 or, #4567 on a cellular phone.  The STARS Emergency Link Center will provide access to local and Provincial / Inter-Provincial services with “one call”.  Test your access to the Emergency Link Center from your remote site by dialing the above numbers before an accident occurs.

The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers funded the creation of the Petroleum Industry Emergency Line. The line is answered by the same highly skilled Communications Specialist at the Emergency Link Centre who answer for STARS. The Communications Specialist can connect you directly with any emergency medical service (which 911 will connect you directly with), rural hospital and major tertiary care centre that you require in Saskatchewan, Alberta or BC.

The Communications Specialists are available:

24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
